On January 1, 1994, Tom and Suzie Oates and their four children moved to Greenwich, bringing the good news of Jesus with them. The Lord helped Tom, our founding pastor, start the church from scratch. Relying on the power of the preached word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ, Tom led a handful of families a few weeks later to gather for the church’s first service on February 4 at the Hyatt Regency. A few years later, the church moved to the Woman’s Club of Greenwich, which continues to be our home for most of what we do as a church.

Under Tom’s leadership, the Lord faithfully and steadily grew and sustained the church through both an encouraging expository preaching ministry and an evangelistic ministry. In 2008, Grace Church was able to call Danny Jang to plant Grace Church Stamford. In 2021, Tom retired as senior pastor into the role of Pastor Emeritus. 

Tom’s successor, Dan Hong, became the pastor in 2021. Under Dan’s leadership, Grace Church of Greenwich continues to be a church where the Bible is taught carefully so that God’s voice is heard clearly. As the Lord has continued to grow the church, we have multiplied our services and locations. In 2024, we launched an afternoon service at the Woman’s Club. In 2025, the morning service moved to a larger room in the Boys and Girls Club. To this day, we remain a church of warm friendships, supportive fellowship and distinctively Christian mission.

Grace Church is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).

As a PCA Church, the Westminster Standards (1646) serve as our statement of faith.
